A little about my journey to becoming a yoga teacher…
Yoga became an important part of my life 20 years ago although it wasn’t until I sustained a spinal injury in a car accident that yoga took on a far deeper, more transformative role for me.
What followed was a dramatic shift - from a previously active lifestyle and dynamic yoga practice to years filled with medical procedures, alternative therapies, and deep personal reflection. Over time, I came to understand that yoga isn’t about being good at something; it’s about being good to yourself.
In 2014, at the age of 36, with a busy toddlers to care for, I underwent a two-level disc replacement (C5/6 and C6/7) in my cervical spine. The surgery was a success - but recovery was a slow and humbling journey. Years of chronic pain had left me with little muscle memory, limited upper body strength, and low self-esteem.
Through yoga, I began to heal - physically, mentally, and emotionally. I learned to accept where I was, to rebuild strength gently, and to reconnect with myself. Yoga reminded me that each day is different, and that by tuning in to the natural ebb and flow of life, we can better support our wellbeing rather than fight against it.
With this in mind, I warmly invite you to join me on the mat. Together, we’ll explore this ancient practice in a safe, supportive space. I’ll encourage you to connect your mind, body, and breath, and to embrace all the nourishing benefits that yoga has to offer.
