A little about my journey to becoming a yoga teacher…

Yoga became an important part of my life shortly after I discovered it fifteen years ago. However my yoga practice took on a whole new meaning when I suffered an injury to my spine in a car accident.

What followed on from a previously energetic life and dynamic yoga practice, was years of medical procedures, alternative therapies, a great deal of soul searching and a very different take on yoga. I gradually learned that yoga was not about being good at something, but being good to yourself.

In 2014 aged 36 I had a two level disc replacement (C5/6 and 6/7) in my cervical spine. Thanks to a highly skilled surgeon, the operation was a great success but I still had a long way to go. I had poor muscles memory having suffered with chronic neck pain for so many years, very little upper body strength and low self esteem.

Yoga helped me heal, to accept, to become stronger and gradually rebuild my life. Yoga is a practice, teaching us that each day is different and the more we tune into the ebb and flow, the greater chance we have to support our wellbeing and work with it not against it.

With this in mind, I invite you to join me on the mat to practise this ancient discipline together in a safe and supportive way. I will encourage you to unite your mind, body and breath, allowing you to soak up all the benefits that yoga has to offer.
